We will provide services in the form of free dance lessons to underprivileged and homeless kids and teens. Will focus on providing a real world activity that will enhance students’ lives while also offering an alternative to current social media and mobile device distractions.
We will also have an active fund raising program, focusing on organizations and churches that emphasize assisting, educating and developing children and opportunities for their future growth.
Most activities will be conducted at our business address, leased from Step by Step Dance Studios at 2510 Anthem Village Dr #150 Henderson. NV 89052, as well as other dance venues across the Las Vegas valley. These would include high school gyms, community centers, local dance halls and other dance studios that rent floor space.
The program is open to under privileged kids and teens. Students will be identified and notified of our program through local shelters, churches and other organizations set up to help kids. We will also have a strong presence and promotional campaign on the web and social media sites.
A Time to Dance will be involved in the following activities:
Instruction in all types of social, club and ballroom dancing, involving dancing alone and with a partner. Instruction will be structured around groups (one instructor with many students) or individuals /dance partners (one instructor with one or two students).
Group Dance Instruction – Provides general instruction in technique and dance steps
Individual Instruction – Provides more specific instruction on dance routines, choreography and partnership.
Dance Practice Sessions: Students will be able to use the dance studio to practice dance moves under supervised environment.
Dance Parties: Students will attend supervised parties where they will dance with other students. Parties will be closed to the public. Only students will be allowed to attend. Limited transportation to and from the parties will be provided.
Dance Performances: Students will get the opportunity to demonstrate their dance skills and routines at organized Showcase Dance Performance events. These performances will be held at an established venue and will be open to the public for an admission charge.
Field Trips to Dance Venues: Groups of students will travel to dance events appropriate for kids (dance competitions, dance based movies, dance seminars). All trips will be supervised. Transportation will be provided.
Activities will be conducted at our home studio and also at local dance venues close to the kids who will be attending our classes. Where necessary we will provide transportation between central sites such as shelters, churches or schools and the location of activities. All activities will be supervised by adults, and utilize security where appropriate.
